So, I would be lying if I didn't admit that my main motivation for starting a blog was so that I could use the widgets from DailyMile.com. I'm newly obsessed with the site (thanks to my superawesomebestcousinVinny)...I wanted a place to use the widgets...I love running/biking/swimming/spinning/yoga-ing..etc...and I love talking about running/biking/swimming/spinning/yoga-ing..etc...I used to love writing...I don't have cable in my new apartment...welcome to the creation of my blog!
Those who know me are well aware of the fact that running and exercise in general are a big part of my life. I am usually training for something and I love a challenge. Last year, I set out to complete 10 races in 2010. I was successful and was even able to be creative about it (including adding a mudrun to the mix--btdubs, SO fun!). I also decided to complete my first triathlon (a super challenging, yet super rewarding experience, with some comedic episodes along the way that I will probably write about at some point.)
This year, I have a few new goals in mind and I have decided that I will be documenting my progress here! My most important goals for this year include: run faster (I'm really not fast, like not even a little bit), complete a half-ironman tri (my Uncle Mike's 30th Birthday present to me...amazing!!), and run more races than last year (I so might cheat and throw in a bunch of 5ks....but a race is a race!). I would also like to finish another (what would be my 2nd) full marathon and I am registered for the NYC lottery, but I am going to see how the tri training goes and figure things out from there.
I do not anticipate that I will have many followers, but I was disappointed in myself last year because I thought I could have done a better job of chronicling some things that made my pretty proud of myself. So, if you do decide to read on--be prepared for at least a few laughs as I am a master of awkward run-ins (its never a dull moment) and unfortunate situations (birds love to use me as a toilet...) ...thanks for coming along for the ride (or the run...ha ha...I'm hilarious),
